Stringent quality control processes are in place at all stages from Certified Seed to the grower, to handling and transportation, and processing and shipping. Sevita is certified by the Canadian Grain Commission as an exporting company that meets ISO standards for Canadian IP soybean quality management practices.

Sevita Quality Assurance

Much of our success is driven by high standards, following the principles of HACCP, as documented in our Assured Grain & Traceability Manual. Our system maintains the integrity, identity, and purity of all pedigreed seed delivered to and stored at our facilities. System practices are documented in our Assured Grain & Traceability Manual, which describes practices and systems, based on the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and follows the Quality Management System guidelines described in the ISO 9000:2000 Standard (International Organization for Standardization). This manual provides the basis for all risk management practices that are followed by Sevita and contracted growers and processors; and as such allows the company to provide consumer assurance for food safety and quality. Our Assured Grain & Traceability Manual identifies potential hazards that can occur in any Canadian grain operation, areas in grain production and handling where hazards or risks can best be managed, grain production and handling practices necessary to control these risks including corrective actions to be taken when practices are not effective and the documents suggested for capturing the necessary data and ensuring traceability.

We recruit the finest growers who adhere to standards and protocols for Identity Preservation, to insure a safe and integral food supply system. The Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System program ensures we meet market demands for specific grains, oilseeds and pulse products. It provides process verification of grain industry identity preserved programs through third party audits of programs against the Canadian Grain Commission. We participate annually in third party audits. IP documentation provides us with resources for continued improvement analysis.

Program and Protocol Assurance

A validated system of stringent protocols and programs provides comprehensive traceability to our customers. The Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS) program ensures that we meet market demands for specific grains, oilseeds, and pulse products. It provides process verification (audit) of grain industry identity preserved programs through third party audits of programs against the Canadian Grain Commission. Sevita participates annually in third party audits. This documentation provides us with resources for continued improvement analysis.
